Procharger D1SC
The superchargers made by Procharger are produced from the best possible materials. Castings are poured from new 356 aluminum alloy, then heat treated for hardness. The super precision bearings used in all Procharger models are made in the USA and have higher speed/load rating than those made by other manufacturers.The fuel-injected automotive and truck supercharger systems by Procharger are in most cases 100% complete, with everything needed for a neat, OEM-quality installation. The hardware is the highest quality available, and fuel injected systems come with a high-flow external fuel pump standard. Systems for carburetor vehicles come complete except for the carburetor and fuel system because those depend on the requirements of specific motors.
The D1SC is a more powerful supercharger than the P1SC. it has more internal rpm capacity, meaning it has more boost. But neither supercharger should be run at anything over 62,000 rpm, and both systems have the same internal 4.10 gears. For the same air flow, the D1SC will run slower than the P1SC, giving it a slight thermal advantage. Both systems have the same physical housing.
The main advantage of the D1SC over the P1SC is that the D1SC has stronger mid-range and top-end air flow, in other words, greater volume of air per psi. Consider a garden hose and a fire hose. If both have a pressure of the same psi, there will still be more water coming from the fire hose than the garden hose. Driven at the same speed, the D1SC will move more air, making the boost cut in sooner with the D1SC than the P1SC. The D1SC will give 4-5 more psi, or 100-150 more hp than the P1SC.The following table shows the similarities and differences between the P1SC and the D1SC:
