2010 Camaro SS Procharger Kit

After being on hiatus for seven years, Chevy has resurrected the Camaro for 2010. The design is informed by the classic Camaros of the late 1960s. The 2010 Camaro SS has a 6.2 liter V8 that comes in two versions. With a standard six-speed transmission, the SS uses the Corvette's LS3 V8 with 426 hp and 420 lb-ft torque. With the optional six-speed automatic, you get the L99 version that produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft torque. This version also has a fuel management system that shuts down four of the eight cylinders under light load conditions.

The SS goes from zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds and does a quarter mile at 108 mph in 13.4 seconds. The optional automatic transmission does zero to 60 in 4.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds. These particularly favorable numbers for the automatic are attributed to "optimized shift points."

Procharger superchargers are available for the 2010 Camaro SS that will practically make the tires go up in flames when you step on it. For a boost of 7 psi, you'll realize a gain in hp of 40 to 55%. A number of people have installed the Procharger P1SC-1 supercharger (with its custom 3 core intercooler), and Procharger is also waiting in the wings with a D1SC upgrade, 12 rib (up from 8) drive system upgrade, an F-1 Supercharger and an F-1R Supercharger.

With the basic P1SC, you'll be bolting on 175 hp or more. You can expect 500 rwhp on a stock L99 Camaro, and 525 rwhp on a stock LS3 Camaro using high octane gasoline. You'll get more power from less boost (7 psi) because of the P1SC's large air-to-air intercooler. The P1SC system comes complete and is self-contained, so you don't have to run any oil lines.

The new Camaro is one eye-catching car, and everyone who sees it who has seen a 1969 Camaro is well aware of where this design's influence came from. It's got a power bulge on the hood with slightly shielded headlights, fog lights, and an in-your-face kind of grille. It's a tough looking ride with power to back it up. Add a supercharger and tell everyone else they better watch out!
