2005-2010 Ford Mustang GT Vortech Supercharger
Vortech makes supercharger systems for 2005-2010 Ford Mustang GT available as a V-3 internally lubricated supercharger that makes running oil lines unnecessary. For 2005 to 2008 models, complete supercharger systems with tuner kits are available. For 2009 to 2010, the tuner kits are available, but the complete kits are still under development.
Vortech gear driven superchargers are nearly silent and are unmatched in reliability. Its advanced high efficiency impeller and housing design are tested in Vortech's own test cell. The mounting bracket is billet (uncast) aluminum for maximum strength and OEM-type appearance. With the high output designs, the integrated air/water charge cooler configuration allows for extra horsepower gains and is maintenance free.
Vortech's superchargers have an available fuel management upgrade with a high-flow fuel pump, high capacity fuel injectors, and a DiabloSport handheld programmer. The oil feed and drain assemblies provide the best lubrication and cooling for the supercharger, even when boost conditions are sustained.
The tuner kits do not have maximum air flow housing, fuel management, or engine management. These must be done by the installer for correct engine operation. The complete systems are smog legal for most vehicles even in California with a few exceptions. Some 2005 models that were built on or before April 30, 2005 will only be legal for racing once they're outfitted with a supercharger and are considered as off-road use only. The 2007 systems are no longer smog legal for systems created after June 12, 2008. They, too are legal in California for racing vehicles and off-road use only.
If the stock engine has 300 hp and 320 lb-ft torque, adding the Vortech Std supercharger will deliver 420 hp and 385 lb-ft torque. Adding the Vortech HO, you get 462 hp and 419 lb-ft torque. Complete kits for the 2005-2006 Mustang GT cost anywhere from $4,700 to $5,900, while tuner kits run $3,400 to $5,100.
Complete systems for 2007-2008 models range from $4,500 to $6,000, with tuner kits running $3,400 to $5,100. The tuner kits for the 2009-2010 cost $4,400 to $5,200. For all systems, the lower prices are for non-polished systems, while the higher priced ones are for satin or other polished finishes.
