1996-2004 4.6 GT Mustang P600B, P1SC
For the 1996 to 2004 4.6 liter GT Mustang, Procharger makes two superchargers: the P600B and the P1SC. The P600B delivers a 55-60% horsepower gain with a 2 core intercooler, and the P1SC delivers 60-80% with a 3 core intercooler. The P600B is considered more of an "entry level" blower, while the P1SC is considered to be a step up from the P600B.The P600B and the P1SC have many of the same specs. They differ, however, in terms of max rpm, internal step-up ratio, maximum psi boost, and whether they are self contained or not (The P1SC is, and the P600B isn't.). Below is a table for comparing the specifications of the P600B and the P1SC:

Self-contained?
No
Yes
The differences in the P600B and the P1SC are in the maximum rpm, internal step-up ratio, maximum psi boost, and the fact that the P1SC is self contained while the P600B is not. The step-up ratio of 3.05 to 1, and because it is not self contained, you have to punch a hole in the oil pan for the P600B. The 4.10:1 step-up ratio of the P1SC will give better boost at low rpms. The P600B's 3.05 step-up ratio makes it a harder to drive it fast enough to take advantage of all its airflow.
While the P1SC receives more press than the P600B, the P600B as an entry level supercharger is still a good choice according to people who have installed one. While the P1SC may outdo it in terms of maximum rpm, internal step-up ratio, and max psi boost, the P600B is nothing to sneeze at and can last for many years with little trouble. They are known to be noisy, but for some people that is an advantage!
